The Spinnies is a 4 bedroom property situated in 3 acres of mature grounds with an orchard, trout stream and woodland. It is located in Linby, a village of rural charm just a few miles north of the City of Nottingham. Local rumour has it that Linby was responsible for the origin of the pancake which, it is said, was first made there to honour the women of the village who defeated Danish invaders after their husbands had fled.
People living at The Spinnies have access to a wide variety of places of interest, from the Local Heritage Centre and the Linby Trail (part of the National Cycle Route) to the City of Caves and Newstead Abbey, which is just a short walk away.
Within the grounds, The Spinnies has a Hot Tub and a trampoline.
As with all Creative Care Homes, The Spinnies has a “chill out” room and a Snoezelen (sensory) room. Service users living on site are young adults, all of whom have a diagnosis of ASD/ ADHD / Congenital Rubella Syndrome with moderate to severe learning disability and additional severe and complex challenges.
The Registered Manager is NVQ5 qualified, is an Accredited MAPA trainer and has a wealth of experience in working with people who demonstrate complex challenges.
Staffing levels provided are a minimum of 1:1, with a proportion of service users requiring additional 2:1 support.
